After almost six months of planning and organisation the first London Alternative Market is just a few days away on Sunday 5th March. We hope that you will be able to join us for what is shaping up to be a very exciting day with a great line up of stalls and artists along with what is promising to be one of Alex’s most talked about performances.
As we hope you will have seen from the website, March's nominated cause is the Spanner Trust and we look forward to welcoming John Pendal to the stage to address the assembled masses at shortly after 2pm. There are a lot of issues which could seriously impact the legality of your choice of lifestyle at present; without the work of organisations like the Spanner Trust, our BDSM community would lose valuable avenues to express our freedom of expression and personal liberties.
To help support the fund raising we have been offered two very generous donations. Princess Spider has gathered together a personal selection of items including a signed copy of her new book, a signed audio CD and signed picture; this special prize will be drawn from the completed entry forms selected at random at 2pm. She will also be making a special appearance at the London Alternative Market and will be signing copies of her book for those who ask politely. Music_Lover aka Kevin has agreed to demonstrate his amazing rope skills and will be offering Karadas in exchange for a donation to the Spanner Trust; we are certainly looking forward to seeing people wandering through the venue in his spectacular creations and we feel it will really add to the atmosphere of the day.
We have attracted a wide range of stalls from all over the UK, some old favourites like Richard Larsen jewellery, SpankingTools.com, JDL Leather and Top to Bottom Leathers and mixed them with a selection of both new vendors, and those who have not displayed their wares in London for many years.
There will be two food concessions run by active scene members who have agreed to contribute a portion of the sales to the supported causes each month:
On the upper gallery we will be displaying work by a variety of new and established fetish photographers and artists including:
We look forward to welcoming you on Sunday 5th March to the launch of what we hope will become a great day out on the London Calender. The next LAM will be on Sunday 2nd April -- watch out for the latest details on the web site; we have even more surprises in store!
Have fun,
