London Alternative Market

Newsletter - 30th August 2006

Dear subscribers,

The seventh LAM is only a matter of days away now and if web traffic is anything to go by it should be the busiest so far! There'll be lots of both new and old faces coming to enjoy the mix of shopping, social and entertainment that the LAM has built its reputation around.

Again, we have a number of new stalls joining us:

  • Adixxtion Designs — Their aim is simple, to make beautiful and unique dresses and outfits. Specialising in couture corsets, evening- and bridal-wear they even create the perfect accessories. So whether you want an outfit for a special occasion or just want a treat, go over and have a look at their custom designs.
  • Leather & Lace — This is one of the stalls where there is something to suit most, from whips and floggers to corsets and fascinators. To see something just a little bit different look out for their range of stainless steel collars, they really are something else.
  • Scarlet Diva — the statement on their website is clear — Be glamorous, sexy and provocative with a sense of style and sophistication — and they help you achieve it. Have a look at their wonderful accessories and help bring fantasies to reality.
  • The Magpie's Nest — Jewellery with kinky twists. All handmade to bespoke designs which means a made-to-measure service is on offer; no walking away because you've seen something you like but it doesn't fit properly.

This month you shall see a slightly different stall plan with our more boutique style stalls to be found up in the royal boxes — this is to give more space to browse the unique items they have to offer and also to try on their wares without any worries.

As ever, the day is packed with things to do and see:

  • 11am — Doors open.
  • 12:30pmLAM workshop. The 5th LAM workshop, focussing on electro stimulation, is hosted by Caz and Si of E-Stim Systems.  The workshop is a follow up to the introduction to electoplay workshop (held in July by Master Cosmic) with a more advanced introduction to the use of electro stimulation for erotic pleasures, as well as how to encorporate this into play.  Entry to this is included in the LAM ticket and handouts will be available.
  • 2pm — with the schools reopening after the summer holidays Miss Prim of the Muir Academy will be running the stage demo with the theme being back to school.
  • 4pm — we will be welcoming Madam E from the Sexual Freedom Coalition to give us an update on the their activities and what the money raised during the day will go towards .
  • After Madam E — the community cause's raffle draw will take place. Tickets will be available to purchase during the day from the cause's stand.
  • 6pmLAM closes; till October 1st, of course!

After the LAM the fun doesn't stop — the LAM After-Market party provides good food and drinks along with excellent quality play-kit to keep things going 'til later in the evening. If you don't know where it is yet ask one of the LAM crew on the community desk during the day — Doors open at 5.45pm!

Since the launch 6 months ago the LAM has raised over £3300 for community causes as well as providing the opportunity for community groups to talk to people directly. This is only achievable with the help of all the stall holders who donate prizes and everyone who turns up to support each month's community cause!

We look forward to seeing you this coming Sunday 3rd September 2006 and again the month after (Sunday 1st October), when the supported cause will be SMDykes. Look out for news of raffle prizes shortly!

Regards,
