London Alternative Market

Newsletter - 3rd November 2006

Dear subscribers,

The ninth LAM is once again round the corner and it's looking like it'll be a great day out as well. Over 30 stalls means a fantastic day for shopping and keeping an eye out for Christmas presents (not that many weeks away now!).

We also have a new venue for the LAM After-Market Party this month, meaning a longer day to enjoy all the fun that the LAM has to offer. We shall be using a previously-unseen area of The Grand for the first time, too. Very Alternative Furniture is very kindly providing the play equipment and our caterers for the kinky are the Deviant Diner and my Lady's Crepes will be serving food late. For more details head to the community desk on the day.

This month we have a range of new stalls as well as all our wonderful regulars; the royal boxes are full for you to browse specialist items and the main floor is going to be packed with all manner of delights. Our new stalls include:

  • Burlesque Boudoir will be up in one of the royal boxes selling all manner of pretty things, from sparkling jewels and corsets to feather fascinators and lingerie there should be something to tickle your fancy.
  • Again up in one of the royal boxes are Eva Reiser Silicon Creations, selling all manner of UV accessories, jewellery and toys, if your looking to stand out clubbing this may be the place to go have a look.
  • We also have True Love Always who sells some amazing bed linen with erotic art prints, something to spice up the bedroom for sure.
  • Last but not least is Tree porn, selling some wonderful 2007 calendars with all manner of subversive tree pictures, all we can say is that it really has to be seen.

As ever, the day is packed with things to do and see:

  • 11am — Doors open.
  • 12:30pmLAM workshop. The 7th LAM workshop is focusing on the ins and outs of Wax Play. This is a practical demonstration of all the wonderful things that can be done with wax either for pleasure or pain. Maria Hades will be presenting the workshop and it really is one not to miss.
  • 2pm — The LAM presents their first fashion show, it's going to be colourful and fun with many different stunning outfits to see. There is still a little bit of time to be involved, either email Fashionshow@londonalternativemarket.com or contact a stall you would like to model for ASAP.
  • 4pm — This month our supported cause is BackLash, we have invited them along to give us details of what they are up to and how you can help.
  • 5:30pm — The LAM After Market Party doors open; head along to the community desk for more details, cost is £5.
  • 6pm — The LAM closes and it's time to go home or to the party.
  • 10pm — The LAM After Market Party closes and the LAM is completely over ... until the 3rd of December!

Since our launch in March, the LAM has raised over £4000 for community causes as well as providing the opportunity for community groups to talk to people directly. This is only achievable with everyone turning up on the day and our wonderful stall-holders being so generous with their raffle prizes! The way the money is allocated is changing after this month in order to benefit more organisations and groups — if you would like more details please pick up a fund raising pack from the community desk.

We look forward to seeing you this coming Sunday 5th November 2006 and again the month after (Sunday 3rd December).

Regards,

The London Alternative Market Team
