Newsletter - 28th March 2007

Dear subscribers,

We hope you enjoyed all the fun that was on offer last month, the first birthday was a roaring success and marked both birthdays in style (yes it took quite a few days for someone's rosy bottom to return to normal).

We would like to make a special thank you mention to Kat and the other members of the Leather family who travelled down to be with us on the day and to take part in the fundraising. With the combination of sponsored spanking, raffle and donation the Spanner Trust raised over £2000.00 on the day for which everyone expresses their deepest thanks. The trust have been active in supporting those who find themselves in legal difficulties due to their SM activities and continues to seeks ways to change the law to allow consenting adults to express themselves as they wish to in the privacy of their own homes.

After much searching we have found a new stable venue for the after market party, the location will be announced at the LAM on 1st April it is about 10 minutes travel from the Clapham Grand and looks like it will be an ideal home as we have been able to take over the entire pub for the evening. Tickets purchased at the LAM will be £5, tickets on the door for LAM attendees will be £6 (you must show proof of LAM attendance) or £8 if you have not been to the LAM that day. Dungeon furniture is again provided by Sweet Torments and a few items from MC’s private selection. There is no dress code for the party but fetish is encouraged and complete nudity is not acceptable outside of a scene.

The official schedule for the day is:

  • 11am — Doors open.
  • 12:30pmLAM workshop will be birching by Mistress Switch and Helena.
  • 2pm — The stage demo will be SM Magic by the Great Hoodunit and his assistant
  • 4pm — Update on the LAM fund.
  • 6pmLAM closes; 'til next month, of course!
  • 6pm LAM after Market play party starts (location to be announced at the LAM)

To date the LAM has raised over £7500 in support of scene causes and community projects — for this, and your continued support, we would like to thank you. We are using the LAM fund money to make a number of projects possible at present these include sponsoring concessionary places on the forthcoming Spirit and Flesh tour.

Spirit + Flesh UK – Fakir Musafar in London
18 – 26 May 2007

In May, Spirit & Flesh UK - supported by Arts Council England - will give people an unprecedented opportunity to explore the world through the eyes of Fakir Musafar and his partner Cleo Dubois. In their first visit to the UK in 12 years, the tour provides a unique opportunity to watch, to discuss, to learn and ultimately to participate in one of their intense group piercing experiences.

The visit culminates in a unique opportunity to participate in a ritualistic Intense Piercing Experience – something that Fakir has never done before in the UK. The Piercing Experience will take place on Saturday 26th May with a briefing the evening before.

Thanks to the generous support of the LAM we are able to offer 6 concessionary places for this event. We particularly encourage applications from fetish scene people on low income. To apply for one of these places you must complete the Call for Participants by Sunday 15th April. To download this form or find out more about all the events, please visit www.fakirtour.com.

Spirit + Flesh is generously supported by:

Spirit + Flesh is produced by Switch Theatre (http://www.switchtheatre.com)

Don't forget the LAM love police will be out and about all month; if you spot someone you want an introduction to, tell anyone wearing a love police arm band and they will be happy to help. If you are interested in joining the Love Police please let us know, we are always keen to recruit.

Looking forward to welcoming you back on the 1st April for the next LAM and the first After Market party in the new venue. Again, in the form of the seasonal treat (as if the LAM wasn't already fantastic value for money), the first 100 people through the doors will receive a free gift!

Regards,
