London Alternative Market

Newsletter - October 2007

Dear subscribers,

Well it's almost LAM time again and there are a few changes to this months event, first we are at Mass in Brixton due to an over booking of our usual venue. To remind you we will be out and about in force over the Rubber Ball weekend and will be stopping by both the Skin Two Expo and XPO at the Excel and Barbican centres.

It promises to be a busy weekend with some many events to go to, the LAM looks like the best option to chill out and relax with friends old and new at the end of a long weekend as well as catching a few stalls who will be LAM exclusives for the weekend.

We are again joined by a few new stalls:

  • Wicked Waists — clothing in leather, PVC, Taffeta made to measure or bespoke design.
  • EniGmA — will be selling pallet wrap, tape and accessories for mummification.
  • Jaguar Tattoos — will be offering black ink temporary tattoos for hose you like to dress up while undressed.
  • Talk dirty to Rob King who is doing an academic research project on what female orgasms are for and invites you to help him with his research.

The official schedule for the day is:

  • 11am — Doors open.
  • 12:30pm — LAM workshop will be Medical play staples by S F Freak.
  • 2pm — Play demos throughout the day on the stage area furniture provided by Very Alternative Furniture
  • 4pm — LAM draw, top prize £50 LAM cash and 2 £25 prizes enter at the LAM or XPO at the Barbican.
  • 6pm — LAM closes; 'til next month, of course! But the fun continues at the after market party which has a free mini bus to take you between the Mass and Battersea.

We also celebrate the launch of a new book:

CURIOUS PLEASURES

A Gentleman's Collection of Beastliness

A Lavishly Illustrated narrative of mankind's curious and Carnal Deeds and Practises; the whole forming a Valuable, Interesting and Instructive Compendium.

The Rev'd Doctor Erasmus St Jude Croom, author of this remarkable tome, will be present in person, to sign copies as requested and to expound upon his knowledge of peculiar Paraphilias, Penchants, Perversions and Peccadilloes.

Last month with your support UKTrucker raised over £1300 that has really helped increase the quality of someone's life. From the LAM stall holders, crew and everyone who contributed I want to extend thanks from Laura who as many of you saw was moved to tears by the level of support.

The LAM after market party continues at a new venue; tickets are £5 and can be purchased from the Parker Birchrod stall near the community desk. The new venue offers a chance to relax and socialise with friends old and new in the ground floor Bistro or decent into the basement dungeon to play into the night.

Don't forget the LAM love police will also be out and about all month; if you spot someone you want an introduction to, tell anyone wearing a love police arm band and they will be happy to help. If you are interested in joining the Love Police please let us know, we are always keen to recruit.

We're looking forward to welcoming you back on the 4th November for the next LAM as the fireworks go off to celebrate our return to the Clapham Grand.

Regards,

The London Alternative Market Team
